FOUNDER
LaShon Winstead is the founder of L & M Mobile Learning, LLC A STEM and STEAM educational program. Her primary goal is to bring STEM and STEAM programs to schools and communities that are looking to prepare their students for 21st-century education and careers. LaShon's love for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math fostered a desire to see more women in the STEM fields which has lead her to establish Girls Who Build STEM a 501 (c) 3 non for profit. Through this nonprofit LaShon's goal are for girls and boys to have quality STEM and STEAM education in low-income communities.
La’Shon had the privilege of speaking to many public officials and NYC school communities about the importance of STEM education. Due to her diligence, she has been able to educate hundreds of students in public and private schools and programs throughout New York. LaShon has been awarded the GFEL 2020 Visionary in Education Award. She has also received an award from the South East Queens Chamber of Commerce 2017 legendary in the business award for her over 25 years of service. LaShon is happily married for 31 years to her forever business and life partner Terry, in which she has three adult children and one grandson, which she affectionately calls him ”her heartbeat.” On any given day, if she is not managing her businesses or riding her bike, she is teaching someone about the Bible. She loves to travel, and you might find her vacationing and reclining on a Caribbean beach with a pina colada in her hand. |
